The Corpse Flower Chronicles

The Corpse Flower Chronicles is a new YA series that I have in the works. About a young girl named Nora, she is a second generation born member of a group of families that had fled their society a century ago to start fresh; with only their own ideals and beliefs. The fear of a curse on the original inhabitants, believed to have been cast by one of the families that did not survive the voyage , and delivered by the discovery of a corpse flower, had caused the group to settle in a harsh and rocky part of the island. With their ship shattered against the shore, they traveled as far as they could carry themselves and their meager supplies away from the land that the putrid flower had bloomed in. The cult like mind frame and superstitious actions of the villagers in the present day are stifling to Nora, and the only peace she can find is on the outskirts of the shambled houses, secretly spending time with Molly - the elderly pariah who has been declared a witch, courtesy of the knowledge she possesses.
